Hi, I’m Sophie Bougoure.
I am a proud resident of the Western Downs and a passionate advocate for our community. Growing up in the close-knit town of Tara, my family’s dedication to our community deeply influenced my values of responsibility and giving back.
After completing my education at Downland College in Toowoomba, I embarked on a path of service by joining the Royal Australian Navy, dedicating four impactful years to defending our nation. During my years of service, I developed valuable skills in discipline, teamwork, and leadership that continue to shape my path today.
Following my time in the Navy, I sought to broaden my horizons and gain a global perspective. I spent two transformative years in England, immersing myself in different cultures and expanding my understanding of the world.

Currently, I serve as a community engagement officer, working passionately to connect people and build inclusive communities. Last year, I made the heartfelt decision to return to Tara, reconnecting with my heritage and dedicating myself to advocating for our community's needs.
